Valve companies are affected by the weakness of the domestic and international markets, and the industry and enterprise development have encountered varying degrees of difficulties. Experts expect that the weak situation will remain until the second half of 2012 and affect the first half of next year. It seems that a cold winter is coming to the domestic valve industry.

"This is the most difficult period in the domestic valve industry since the financial crisis of 2008. We do not rule out the coming of industry reshuffling," said Ye Juntao, deputy secretary-general of the Wenzhou Valve Chamber of Commerce.

In recent years, the rapid development of China's valve industry has been affected by factors such as raw materials and labor costs. The export and market share of products have been continuously expanding, and have gradually become an important production base and main product sales market in the industry. One side is the continued weakness in the external market, and the other is the weakening of the comparative advantage under the influence of rising comprehensive costs. The entire domestic valve equipment manufacturing industry is facing a “pain period” of industrial restructuring. Valves are products with low profit margins and the market is highly competitive. At present, China's valve industry is a labor-intensive industry, and China's valve industry is still dominated by volume expansion. Although more and more valve products from China are flowing in the international valve market, the right to speak in the international valve market is not in the hands of Chinese companies. If China's valve industry wants to have long-term development, it must adjust and optimize the industrial structure.
