Methylene Chloride

Dichloromethane (DCM) is a multifunctional and powerful chloride solvent known for its high solubility. As a solvent, it is often used for coating removal, metal cleaning and polishing; It can also be used as a processing solvent in the production of drugs, polycarbonate, cellulose ester and photographic film, and as an extraction medium for aerosol propellant and food processing. Other uses include adhesives, cosmetics, plastic processing and foaming. Dichloromethane has many characteristics such as super solubility, low flammability, high cost efficiency, recyclability and rapid evaporation. Therefore, it has long been the preferred solvent for a variety of applications, mainly in polyurethane foam blowing, metal cleaner, adhesive, paint stripper and pharmaceuticals.

Dichloromethane is a widely used organic solvent, which is slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in ether and ethanol, and volatile at room temperature. It can cause poisoning if used carelessly.
