Dongfeng Renault executives recently stated that Renault’s business in China will receive personnel and suppliers through Nissan, a partner. In 2016, it will start production of several cross-border models and is expected to manufacture electric vehicles.
Relying on Nissan to build the foundation

On March 1st, 2014, the Wuhan car started, during which Jacques Daniel, the CEO of Dongfeng Renault, told the media: “We will absorb a large number of Nissan manufacturing employees from China, and design and R&D personnel will be introduced from Europe.” Dongfeng Renault's parts suppliers will also be the same as Nissan.

According to Darby, Renault's new vehicles for China will be designed by Renault's Guyancourt Technology Center in the suburbs of Paris. In the future, Renault will use local Chinese design talent for R&D.

Foreign media such as "European Auto News" pointed out that Dongfeng Renault, as a post-market entrant, needs to use Nissan force from various aspects, from dealers to marketing forces to technology. Renault's business in China lags far behind General Motors, Volkswagen and Ford, and it relies heavily on Europe. Half of its sales come from Europe. The current European auto market is in a downturn in 20 years.

Dongfeng and Renault signed an agreement in December last year and will invest RMB 7.76 billion in the formation of Dongfeng Renault. The initial production capacity of the plant will reach 150,000 vehicles, which is expected to double in the future.
Will launch a variety of models

Daetech did not provide detailed information on cross-border vehicles manufactured in China in the future, but used multiple crossovers to imply a variety of models, and denied that the vehicle is not a Duster-branded model sold in Europe.

Regarding Dongfeng Renault's products, the media had disclosed that it included electric vehicles and joint ventures' own brands, and Da Yee stated that it is still listening to the opinions stage, not confirming whether to manufacture electric vehicles, or giving the launch time of the joint venture's own brands, “the current status It is not yet clear, and these cross-border SUVs are enough for us to be busy for the next three years."

The industry refused to give Dongfeng Renault's capacity target, emphasizing the future to take a 3% share of the Chinese auto market.
