Due to Takada airbag hidden danger Ferrari will recall some models in China

It was learned from the official website of the National Bureau of Quality Supervision and Administration of Defective Product Management that Ferrari Automotive International (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. had filed a recall plan with AQSIQ. The recall will be extended from March 1st, 2018 to June 30th, 2011. From the day of production to May 22, 2012, part of the 2012 Ferrari 458, California and FF series cars were imported. According to the statistics of the company, 506 vehicles were involved in the mainland of China. details as follows:

From June 30, 2011 to May 18, 2012, part of the imported 2012 Ferrari 458 series cars, a total of 259 vehicles;

From July 15, 2011 to May 22, 2012, part of the imported 2012 Ferrari California series cars, a total of 163 vehicles;

Part of the imported 2012 Ferrari FF series cars produced from September 9, 2011 to March 6, 2012 totaled 84 vehicles.

The front passenger airbags of the vehicle within this recall range were equipped with a Takadan-made ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator of the airbag may be damaged abnormally, causing the debris to fly out and injuring the people in the vehicle, presenting a safety hazard.

Ferrari Automotive International (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will replace the modified airbags for free in the recalled area to eliminate defects.

The relevant user should drive carefully to avoid collisions. The user should contact an authorized service center for repairs as soon as the recall action begins.

This recall is part of an expanded recall of the recall of some imported Italian series and California series cars recalled by Ferrari Auto International (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. on August 10, 2016. The reason for the expansion of the recall is that the supply of spare parts for the recall is insufficient and the recall needs to be implemented in stages.
