New 4.8 billion investment plan for highways in Fujian

On August 13, the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation printed and issued the “Several Opinions on Further Speeding up the Development of Transportation and Transportation”, proposing 15 measures including a new investment plan for a total of 4.8 billion yuan for provincial highways. Through sorting out the suggestions put forward by all parties in the mass line education practice activities, a group of transportation projects that promote local economic development and serve people to travel are added to the implementation plan, and efforts are made to complete a total investment of 80 billion yuan in the year and exceed the plan by more than 10 billion yuan.

You Quan, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Fujian Province, said that in the past, due to backward infrastructure, everyone felt that it was difficult to invest in Yan; but now that roads and transportation are convenient, industrial development has better conditions, and Fujian has a great advantage for later development. The increasingly sophisticated three-dimensional transportation network in Fujian is continuously releasing the “multiplier effect”, which may bring about total social demand and national income that are two or even several times the amount of investment.

The Opinions stated that in order to serve the farmers safely and quickly, the mileage of rural roads will increase by 350 kilometers, and 2,350 kilometers will be built throughout the year. Encourage rural highway security projects to be implemented ahead of schedule. This year, an additional 1,200 kilometers will be added and an annual total of 9,000 kilometers will be built. Accelerate the construction of passenger transportation hubs, increase investment in transportation stations by 70 million yuan, and invest more than one billion yuan in the year.

A few days ago, Fujian Provincial Transportation Management Bureau took the lead in organizing the investigation team of the Transportation Department, the Construction Management Office, and the Provincial Highway Bureau of the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation in accordance with the deployment of the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation. It has conducted in-depth research into the “village and village bus” in Xinluo District, Longyan City. Work to speed up and promote the solution to the “difficulty of traveling” problem that has plagued peasant brothers.

At present, there are 5 rural passenger transport enterprises in the district, 101 bus lines and 19 rural passenger lines. In the next stage, the Fujian Provincial Transportation Management Bureau will closely follow the deployment requirements for educational practices and continue to conduct in-depth investigation and research work. The rural villages will continue to implement passenger car projects on the premise that rural highways meet the safe and secure conditions. It is planned that 800 new rural passenger cars will be renewed throughout the year to ensure that Tongcun Highway will be able to build rural passenger cars in all established villages that meet the conditions for safe passenger cars. At the same time, we will guide the corporateization, intensive, and large-scale operations of rural passenger transport, promote the business model of the district, promote the long-term development of rural passenger transport, and benefit the majority of rural people.

The "Opinions" also pointed out that the construction of main highways will be accelerated. If there are conditions for commencement of normal provincial highways within the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" during the year, they will all be included in the construction plans for the second half of the year. There will be 10 new construction projects and 6 new projects completed. Accelerating the construction of Tongxiang Town’s main roads is an old road that does not meet the third-level technical standards. All the conditions for starting a project are included in the implementation plan for the current year. The investment in highway construction will strive to increase by 4 billion yuan to ensure that the total mileage of the entire province will exceed 4000 kilometers by the end of the year. The new investment plan for the port waterway project is 1.1 billion yuan, focusing on accelerating the construction of berths such as Quanzhou Shihu Domestic Trade Container Center, Quzhou Gulei Large Port Industry Support Terminal and Fuzhou Jiangyin Port Area No. 5-9.
