Philips Lumileds has launched the LUXEONUVLED series. The company says the LUXEONUVLED family offers the highest system throughput density. With wavelengths from 380 to 430 nm, LUXEONUVLEDs are designed for UV curing, counterfeit inspection, medical, industrial and specialty lighting. Each LED with an area of ​​approximately 2.2 mm2 is placed in a non-dimmed state, allowing for precise optical control. The development of the UVLED market has been hampered by limited flux density and lack of design flexibility, said KurosHashemi, senior product line manager at Philips Lumileds. Philips Lumileds has successfully solved these limitations by introducing a compact, high-power transmitter that is closely spaced to the medium required to provide the highest flux density. For example, in curing applications, when the current is 1A, the emitter with a wavelength of 395nm makes the LED array flux density as high as 38W/cm2.
