In order to hold this new type of blade, Seco designed a series of multi-toothed cutters with external and internal threading. Up to 6 inserts can be mounted on the cutterhead cutter for more efficient threading. Unlike tapping, the milled thread can be machined to the full depth of the profile, even for materials that have been hardened, without affecting the shape, surface roughness or accuracy of the thread.

Seco Tools' new design of indexable thread milling cutters and inserts represents a further step forward in threading applications. The new type of insert is very easy to install for the operator. It has cutting edges on both sides and is 40mm long for increased thread length. In some cases, the same blade can be used for the left and right threads of the same pitch.
