The mine belongs to Semax. Located in Colorado, USA, on the east side of the watershed, about 64km west of Denver, and 32km north of the Claymax mine, it is the deep ore body of the discontinued Jurad molybdenum deposit. The plant has an elevation of 2,750 m. The deposit was discovered in 1964. It was completed in July 1976 and put into operation in August.
Processing plant design scale: daily processing ore 30kt, with an annual output of molybdenum concentrate 22.7kt (amount of molybdenum metal).
By 1984, the processing capacity has reached 35kt/d.
2. Deposits, ores and mining
The Henderson molybdenum deposit is of the same type as the Claymax molybdenum deposit and is a porphyry molybdenum deposit. Molybdenite is present in the fine mesh vein of quartz -molybdenite. As of the end of 1983, the reserves of ore were 223 Mt, and the amount of molybdenum metal recoverable was 454 kt, which is the world's largest molybdenum deposit.
Henderson is a typical main molybdenum mine. The molybdenum ore has a single metal mineral, mainly molybdenite, with an average grade of 0.30% Mo and a cut-off grade of 0.2% (MoS 2 ).
The ore body is deep in the depth of 1129~1647m, and the mining technology of pit mining-shaft-leveling system is adopted.
3. Mineral processing technology and equipment
Henderson uses coarse grinding (65%-100 mesh) - rough selection, three-stage re-grinding - four selected processes (below).

Broken: process, a section of open road crushing ore; equipment, 1370 × 2130mm rotary crusher . The ore discharge size is 230mm.
Rough grinding: process, a wet semi-self-grinding (four series); equipment, ¢ 8.5 × 4.3m semi- autogenous grinding machine 4, each with two 2625kW electric motors. Design production capacity, l0kt / h · Taiwan, to 1983 actual capacity of 9.3kt / h · Taiwan. After the expansion of one, the actual capacity reached 35kt / d.
Power consumption: 2.5kW·h/t; ball consumption: 1. lkg/t, ball load: 8% of the mill volume. The newly added steel ball consists of steel balls of ¢51, ¢76, ¢100mm ball diameter. In production, when adding steel balls, only one steel ball of l00mm is added.
Chunk: refers to the mill discharge griddle chunks, # 1, # 2 Returning to the mill bulk to the mine mill; # 3 mill reserved chunks pebble mill grinding media when regrinding.
Grading: The equipment is closed for each semi-autogenous grinder and eight ¢ 660mm cyclone sets. The graded overflow concentration is 50~55%; the fineness is 65%-100 mesh.
Rough selection: The process is a rough sweep, and the rough selection time is 15 min. The equipment has 90 sets of 8.4mRT flotation machines. The ore concentration is 45%; the fineness is 60%-100 mesh, and the MoS 2 grade is 0.52%. The fine concentrate has a fineness of 28%-100 mesh and a MoS 2 grade of 9%. The recovery rate of rough selection is 90%~92%.
Type of agent: steam oil, octetix, pine oil, lime, Knox pharmacy.
Concentrated drug removal: ¢61m thickener for drug removal.
Re-grinding: three-stage re-grinding and grading closed circuit. Two sets of 3.2×6.1m gravel mills, 375kW/set; two sections of 3.2×6.1m gravel mills, 375kW/set; three sections of re-grinding 3.2×6.lm gravel mill One, 395kW/set.
Featured: Four selections. Among them, 1, 2, and 4 times were selected for each cleaning, but only the first selection was followed by the selection and discarding of the tail. The recovery rate of selected operations was 97.5%.
Selected products: containing 90% MoS 2 , 0.8% FeS 2 , 0.2% Pb, 0.05% Cu, 0.5% CaO, 6% acid insolubles (mainly silicate), 3% moisture, total ore dressing The rate is 88%~90% (=90%~92%×97.5%).
Lead removal from concentrate: Since the concentrate contains Pb 0.2% and does not meet the factory conditions, Henderson uses an immersion liquid containing 5% HCl concentration, and leaches the molybdenum concentrate for 28 hours at 80 °C to make the concentrate contain Pb. 0.2% dropped to 0.03%.
Product treatment: The refined concentrate after dipping is dried by filtration and steam spiral dryer to obtain a final product with a water content of about 3%.
