The intense and concentrated light of high beam lights can make the front fog become a bright “wall”.

The principle of the "Tyndar effect" is the wavelength of visible light in some bands, which coincides with the aerosol particles, and produces diffraction, so that parallel rays cannot pass straight through. Therefore, the best way to weaken the "Tyndar effect" is to make the light source try to avoid these bands. The longer wavelength of the fog lamp can minimize diffraction and allow more effective light to pass through dense fog and tiny drops of water. At the same time, the lights of the fog lamps are divergent rather than parallel and do not converge like headlights. Light does not converge and the Tyndall effect will not be amplified.

In simple terms, the fog lamp has been specially designed. It has two major advantages: first, it has strong penetrating power and high recognition; second, it will hardly produce the Tyndall effect, and light will not hit the fog and obstruct the line of sight. After all, it's not a big problem to think of the rear fog lights as taillights or brake lights (the three types of lights have the meaning of “keep the distance from the car, point away from me”). When the visibility is 50-100m, the fog lights, low beam lights, width lights, and taillights should be turned on. The speed should not exceed 40kmh, and the distance to the front vehicle should be 50m or more.

When the visibility is less than 50m, the traffic control department of the public security department will take traffic control measures to close the expressway in local and all road sections in accordance with regulations.

In other words, fog lights have only come into play when the visibility is less than 200m. There are two reasons: First, when the visibility is greater than 200m, the headlights, width indicators, and taillights can provide sufficient lighting and warning effects. Which is more "conspicuous" for rear fog lamps and double flash lamps?
