It was learned from the Changzhou Public Transportation Group Corporation that due to the new breakthrough in the technology of “low-carbon bus”, the city has successfully completed the conversion of 165 diesel-engined buses that can be changed to one-off large-scale “Chai gas”, according to estimates. Based on the current diesel fuel of RMB 7.25/liter and natural gas of RMB 3.45/cubic meter, an average fuel cost per 100 kilometers for a “Chaiqi” bus can be saved. Up to 59.2 yuan. With 8.5 buses traveling 8.953 million kilometers per year, the “Chaiqi Gas” project can save fuel costs 5,087,300 yuan per year. At the same time, the rate of carbon emission reduction from buses to "chai gas" reached 67%. Before refitting, 165 diesel vehicles emit about 570.74 tons of carbon each year. After the conversion, the carbon emissions will be reduced by 380.5 tons according to the measurement standards provided by BP China's carbon emission calculator.
