Colombia proposes to apply safeguards to tires

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Colombia recently briefed the Chinese Embassy in Colombia that the Colombian domestic rubber product manufacturer has applied to the Trade and Industry Ministry pursuant to Colombian Act No. 1407 of 1999 to require safeguard measures for imported rubber tires. The Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry will start an administrative study on this application in accordance with the law and welcomes the parties concerned to submit their opinions on this application to the Division before January 23.
