Evac acquires integrated waste and wastewater management system for three large cruise ships

According to the contract worth 1 million euros, Evac will deliver the product package, including an Evac Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) wastewater treatment unit. The device has been certified by the IMO International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships and can be used in areas such as environmentally sensitive pollution control areas. The system can also be installed according to the on-board arrangement specified on the customer's site to ensure optimal functioning in a limited area of ​​the ship and to handle any marine wastewater, including black and grey water in the accommodation area.

Under the contract, Evac will also provide a dry and wet waste treatment system, including an incinerator and recycling equipment, capable of handling glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and aluminum waste, as well as food waste vacuum systems, biological sludge treatment units, vacuum collection. The system and approximately 2,300 vacuum toilets per boat.

In 2015, in addition to contracts for warships, coast guards and offshore engineering, Evac also received a contract to install a complete waste management system for the “Atlantic Mercy” civilian hospital ship.
