The second phase production workshop of Lianyungang Yuanyi Chemical Co., Ltd. located in the Chemical Industrial Park of Duogougang Town, Guannan County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, exploded. After receiving the alarm, Lianyungang City Fire Fighting Detachment dispatched 8 fire engines and more than 30 officers and soldiers from Guannan, Guanyun, and Special Service immediately to the scene to put out the fire. After firefighters struggling to save, the fire was basically extinguished at 5:40. After the fire brigade arrived at the scene, it was discovered through fire detection and inquiries from insiders that the fire site was located on the second floor of the company's second-stage production workshop. The fire on the site was fierce. The company mainly produced methyl benzoylformate, a total of 43 reactors. The main raw materials for production are toluene, benzoquinone, methanol, and hydrochloric acid. The production processes are condensation, chlorination, cyanidation, and esterification. The fire commander ordered six guns to intercept the fire and control the spread of the fire. After nearly five hours of fire fighting by the fire brigades, the fire was basically extinguished at 5:40 on that day, and the fire caused no casualties. At present, the cause of fire and direct property loss are under further investigation.
