Projects, bridge rehabilitation projects, ETC networking projects, transportation card projects, national road networking projects, expressway service area demonstration projects, involve the promotion of equalization of urban and rural transport basic public services, improve the level of road safety and security, and enhance the convenience and service of transportation. In promoting the equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas, the Ministry of Transport has proposed four new projects: the reconstruction of rural roads, the accessibility of rural passenger transport, the improvement of ferry crossings, and the practice of snaking bridges. This year, 200,000 kilometers of county roads, township roads and village roads will be newly reconstructed. The western region will focus on the hardening of roads in built villages. The eastern and central regions and relatively developed regions in the west will focus on the upgrading of rural highways; In the area of ​​line traffic conditions, an additional 2,000 passenger-passenger-built villages have been established, bringing the proportion of passenger vehicles in the established villages to 93.2%; in rural areas relying on water transportation, the technical conditions for ferry ferries have been greatly improved, and the conditions are the worst and the hidden dangers are the highest. The 800 ferry crossings will be transformed to renovate more than 300 old ferry boats that are still in operation and have reached the age of 15 or more; 100 pairs of strops will be rectified, completely solving the problem that people in the outlying mountainous areas in the western region are mainly using ziplines.

In improving the level of highway safety and security, the Ministry of Transport will do two practical things: the life protection project and the renovation of dangerous bridges. It will complete the investigation and treatment planning of highway safety hazards, and take the lead in completing the passenger-passenger line and picking up the students' vehicles on highways. The key sections such as steep bends and Linshui Linya have been treated for about 30,000 kilometers. It is planned to implement 3,000 bridges and 120,000 linear meters of bridges.

In the aspect of improving the convenience of transportation and service, the Ministry of Transport proposed to complete four demonstrations of ETC networking, transportation card, national network, and expressway service area demonstration. In 2014, on the basis of achieving ETC networking in 14 provinces and municipalities, and in line with the idea of ​​“Mature one to access one”, the national highway ETC network is basically realized. Selected key regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Yangtze River Economic Belt cities took the lead in initiating transportation and card connectivity to achieve interconnection and interoperability among more than 20 cities. The existing “7918” highway network's existing 23 “broken road” sections and the existing 36 “bottleneck” road sections of the common national highways will strive to commence construction before the end of this year. The first batch of 100 expressway demonstration service areas were selected to promote the continuous improvement of service facilities in the expressway service area throughout the country.
