In the maintenance of oil tanker electrical appliances, it is often necessary to use a multimeter to check the resistance, voltage, and diode polarity. The following items should be noted during use: 2. Select the measuring range before measuring the resistance, and zero the meter in the file. When the multimeter can't be adjusted to zero, it means that the battery of the multimeter is not enough and the new battery should be replaced. Resistance measurement
1. When the resistance is measured, the tested component of the tank car shall not be charged, and the measured component shall not be connected in parallel with other electrical components.
3. When measuring the resistance, the pointer should be as far as possible in the middle part of the dial to minimize the error.
4. When measuring low-power transistors, do not use the low-resistivity ohmic file below R*100 of the multimeter to avoid current overload damage to the transistor.
Voltage measurement
1. The DC voltage should be set to V, the AC voltage should be used in another orientation, and select the range equivalent to the measured voltage on the tank car. If the measured voltage is unknown, select the maximum range to test.
2. When the DC voltage is measured, the positive terminal of the multimeter should be connected to the high potential terminal of the tested component, and the negative terminal to the low potential terminal. If it is impossible to determine which terminal has a high potential, the test leads can be touched on both ends of the tested component. If the hands are biased towards the "-" side of the zero line of the DC voltage V, the test leads will be reversed. The counter pens can easily bend the pointer, resulting in inaccurate readings. In order to prevent back-fighting, the range should be higher and the movement should be quicker.
Measuring current
1. The multimeter and the tested component on the tanker should be in series.
2. When measuring DC current, the multimeter should be placed in the corresponding A. The positive terminal is connected to the high-potential terminal, and the negative terminal is connected to the low-potential terminal to allow the current to be drawn from the positive terminal to the negative terminal.
3. When measuring AC current, there is no distinction between positive and negative. The range should be consistent with the measured current. If the measured current value is unknown, it should be tested from the maximum range.
When the multimeter is not in use, place the gear knob at the highest level of AC voltage.
