The world’s leading manufacturer of high torque cam motor hydraulic drives demonstrated two new technologies at the Bibiden Challenge .

Poclain Hydraulics is a technology company that designs, manufactures and markets hydrostatic transmissions and provides engineering services related to vehicle equipment, high-torque cam motors and radial piston hydraulic motors.

The company is located in the French city of Verberie, it has always been to focus on technology applications in the field of heavy commercial vehicles, commercial vehicles involved include road paving and maintenance vehicles, earth moving vehicles, drilling vehicles, trenching vehicles, mining vehicles, tunnel Construction vehicles.

The French company has 1,100 employees and has production sites in France, the United States, the Czech Republic and India, as well as 12 subsidiaries. The company will demonstrate two significant technological advances in the commercial vehicle sector for the first time at the Bibiden Challenge .

The first technology is called AddiDriveAssist. The technology is designed for heavy vehicles and trucks, such as concrete mixer trucks, transport vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, garbage trucks and other vehicles that often require off-road driving or working in harsh conditions. This auxiliary system can effectively implement four-wheel drive functions on two-wheel-drive vehicles, thereby improving the maneuverability of road vehicles, and the technology has been industrialized.

The system improves the vehicle's traction performance and drive power through hydrostatic front or rear wheel drive systems, as it helps to ensure the vehicle's ability to pull and low-speed traction under off-road conditions. The main components of the system consist of a hydraulic oil pump mounted on the gearbox, a valve that engages the flywheel motor, and two high-torque motors that are mounted on wheels to drive the non-drive shaft.

Compared with the traditional four-wheel drive, the technology has also made significant strides in structure. The company claims that compared to a conventional all-wheel drive system, the technology can increase the payload by as much as 400kg, which helps reduce fuel consumption by reducing weight. Other advantages of the technology include: A lower cab position compared to all-wheel drive trucks can reduce wind resistance and consequently fuel consumption. When mounted on a trailer, the system can effectively reduce the speed of the vehicle, which is particularly useful in the case of a downhill steep slope requiring engine braking.

The company also demonstrated a technology called AddiDriveCreepDrive, the technology is designed as a series of commercial vehicles, road markings such as trucks, concrete mixers, gravel spreader, sprinkler, aircraft deicing trucks, asphalt spreading vehicles, bridges And tunnel survey vehicles, and other vehicles that need to travel at speeds below 10km/h, etc.

The technology includes two independent transmission methods: hydrostatic transmission and mechanical transmission. The system can easily control the switching between these two modes by triggering the switch. The system uses mechanical transmissions when driving on roads and hydraulic transmissions at low speeds. In the latter case, the hydraulic brake has been able to fully meet the parking requirements, so the mechanical brake is only used as a backup. The system's components are all based on high-torque motors, so the system is very compact.

The advantage of this technology is that it effectively reduces the loss of the drive train and brake system. Using this hydraulic braking technology, the vehicle's noise is lower and at the same time particle pollution is effectively reduced.
