The utilization of lignite with low calorific value on June 3 has been a technical problem in the world power generation industry. According to the introduction of the Shandong Academy of Sciences, this technical problem has recently achieved breakthroughs that can make lignite power generation more clean.

This technology was jointly developed by the Shandong Provincial Academy of Sciences Industrial Energy Saving Center and Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Company. According to expert assessment, this technology, known as high-bed superheated steam lignite pre-drying clean coal complete set technology, is applied to domestic lignite power plants. Through the technical upgrading of the lignite pretreatment process, the energy density of lignite can be improved, and the moisture content can be reduced. Reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, reduce the loss of power plant supporting systems, and increase the power generation efficiency of power plants.

Lignite is a resource with high volatility, high moisture, high ash content, low calorific value, low ash melting point, heavy pollution, and relatively low utilization rate. China's lignite resources are relatively abundant, with proven reserves of 130.3 billion tons, accounting for 13% of the country's coal reserves, of which the largest reserves of brown coal in Inner Mongolia, accounting for 77% of the national brown coal reserves. China's lignite has the disadvantages of high humidity (30% 50%), low ignition point, and large carbon dioxide emissions. Direct combustion of unmodified brown coal raw coal will cause serious high environmental pollution problems and increase the construction of power plant equipment. The cost of the operation, higher water content led to increased transportation costs, which limited the space used by the northern lignite resources to be transported to power plants in coastal cities.

In 2010, the total installed capacity of lignite power generation in China will expand by 15GW to 28GW, and the installed capacity of lignite power generation will develop rapidly. At present, Shandong Tianli Drying Equipment Co., Ltd. has signed cooperation agreements with Huaneng Jiutai Power Plant and Shanghai Electric Power Corporation, a subsidiary of China Power Investment Group.
