Shale oil and gas development has increased ExxonMobil's oil and gas reserves

Recently, the world’s largest listed oil company, ExxonMobil , said that its oil and natural gas reserves have increased compared to last year due to the influence of shale oil and gas output and the Canadian project.

The Texas company said that the increase in oil and gas reserves in Bakken, North Dakota, and the cold lake oil sands development project in Alberta have allowed ExxonMobil production to reach 115% of 2012.

At the end of 2012, ExxonMobil had proven reserves of 25.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent, and in 2011 it was 24.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent. More than half of these are stored as crude oil and other liquids, while 51% of the storage last year was natural gas.
