Nitto Precision (NSK) develops new type of screw "AbusLock"

Nitto Precision Co., Ltd. developed the "AbusLock" screw that can achieve excellent anti-loosening effect without applying adhesive to the screws. It will be officially launched in March 2011. The anti-loosening effect of the new screws is achieved by improving the screw shape. This product can be widely used in the field of using OA equipment, AV products, information appliances, etc. using small screws and solid parts.

One of the existing methods for countering loosening of screws is to coat male screws (screws) and female screws (nuts) with adhesives. However, since the screw is in a bonded state at this time, the portion (cross hole) for turning the screw when the screw is removed is easily damaged, resulting in a significant increase in fastening cost.

This new type of product can be manufactured using the same production process as ordinary screws, so the cost is far lower than the adhesive and other anti-loosening measures. Screw size (diameter) is 1.4mm, 1.7mm, 2.0mm three kinds of materials for carbon steel. Various gold plating treatments can be performed.

Therefore, the new type of screw has made innovations in the pattern of the male thread. Specifically, by using a shape that is relatively stable to the female screw member, the screw teeth of the male screw member interfere with each other on the flank where there is little unevenness, thereby exerting a stable anti-loosening effect. In addition, it also has the following characteristics: (1) By using special teeth to interfere with the shape-stabilized surface of the teeth, the degree of squeezing and cutting when the screws are screwed in is reduced, preventing the generation of chips; (2) Since the small screws and the like are flat, the female screws are well-inserted when tightened.
